Learn More About Domestic Violence Prevention

Domestic violence prevention works at multiple levels—individual, relationship, community, and societal.

 Early Education & Awareness

  • Teaching healthy relationship skills (respect, communication, boundaries)

  • Helping people recognize early warning signs (jealousy, control, intimidation)

  • Challenging myths like “love means jealousy” or “it’s a private family issue.”

¡BASTA YA!

¡BASTA YA! is a new prevention initiative that addresses domestic and intimate partner violence in Latinx communities of Holyoke, Chicopee, and Springfield. Funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the initiative includes engaging community groups in assessing program needs and co-designing prevention solutions for target populations, including domestic violence survivors, teens and young adults, immigrants, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ individuals. An advisory committee representing these groups is guiding the process.

We invite you to help create positive social change in our community by supporting Alianza’s culturally-specific prevention efforts. We are seeking partner organizations to help facilitate assessment surveys, interviews, and focus groups. Participation is confidential. Please contact Gladys Lebron or Ashly Figueroa at the information below.
